Bharathi Shanmugan says-

“ It is named Rajiv Gandhi Government General hospital. There are numerous peripheral hospitals attached to GH!The hospital has got a huge patient inflow everyday. You come across innumerable cases in the op and during ward postings. Patients from peripheral government hospitals are referred to our hospital as it is well equipped with facilities and trained medical professionals. MMC is one of the oldest medical colleges in India.

Apart from this, there are a few cultural events conducted in the college. These include REVIVALS- An inter college cultural fest, ENCIERRO- Sports fest and KALAIOMA – An inter college fest. Apart from this HOSTEL DAY is celebrated separately for men and women. There are new clubs being formed by the council to engage students in co-curricular activities.Hostels are well maintained and clean. Three students are accommodated in every room. There are no air conditioners. Mess food is okay. The faculties and departments are awesome! They are very generous and cooperative. Specially anatomy in first year. You can always reach out to them in case you come across any difficulties.”

Shiva Prakash says-

“I am already in love with my college. This is my identity and fruit of my 2 years hard work.Infrastructure is good, the new campus is well built, and hostels are comfortable. Food is ok, it costs ₹80/day for vegetarian meal. Non veg items and ice-creams are extras.Cadavers are numerous, they change it every 6 month. Every dissection table has 15 students, that is a pretty good ratio.

Coming to sports, there are five major sports, Cricket, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Volleyball. Every hosteler is encouraged to involve in sports and cultural activities by seniors.

Ragging is nil, just some small tasks and it actually creates a very good bond between us. Seniors are friendly and helpful.

While new campus is good at infrastructure, the old campus built at 1835 has lots of cultural importance. Its the second oldest medical college of Asia.

The batch strength is 250. Yeah, that is huge and I still yet to know many of batch mates. Some Professors are awesome, especially the anatomy department.

The best thing about hostels is freedom. The Park town has accessible to whole Chennai with Local trains, bus transport and metro nearby to the college.

The inter college culturals is highly reputed, called as Revivals. Encierro, the inter medical college sports event is really nice.Madras Medical College is one of the best colleges in South India and I am proud of being an MMCian. It has a glorious heritage and its legacy will continue.”

So, all serious MBBS aspirants from Tamilnadu, preparing for NEET from CONCEPTREE Learning or all other institutes we wish you a very best in getting into this prestigious college.
