Rajasthan’s Barmer boy success story in NEET 2018
Prince Chaudhary, comes from a small town in Rajasthan’s border district of Barmer and he got the All India Rank 5 in NEET result 2018. The story of Prince is inspiration to lot of Medical aspirants across India. Students from parts of Tamilnadu other than Chennai can really take the achievements of Prince as an inspiration to compete for NEET/other Medical Entrances. Prince is the son of a medical shop owner Ramaram and his mother is a home maker n Dhorimana village of Barmer district. He scored 686 out of 720 marks in NEET 2018.
Though he comes from a humble background with not much exposure to English medium learning etc, Prince made up for it by putting shear efforts. He used to study for at least six hours a day after his classes in school and coaching centre, which helped him revise his chapters and do better in competitive examinations. According to him, preparation of notes and revision are key to success in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test.
A student of Hindi medium student till Class 10, Chaudhary made remarkable progress to achieve this success in NEET. Here is a brief interview with Prince covering some crucial areas relevant for future NEET aspirants.
Congratulations on getting selected in one of the prestigious colleges through NEET. How are you feeling after Cracking NEET?
Ans- I was really happy. I expected to be in top 10. Being the AIR 5 rank holder is big thing for the person and the family of course. Moreover, I have bagged AIR 1 in the OBC Category.
Tell us something about yourself and your background?
Ans- I am from Barmer,Rajasthan. I completed my class 10 from Vijay Memorial School. I joined Allen for further studies.
What motivated you to pursue medicine as a career?
Ans- I always wanted to be a doctor. My father is the owner of the medical store, he gave me a lot inspiration too.
What is your overall and subject-wise score in NEET 2018?
Ans- My overall marks in NEET out of 720 are 686. Section wise I got 170 in Physics as well as Chemistry out of 180 and in Biology 346 ot of 360.
Which other medical entrances have you appeared for?
Ans- I have appeared for AIIMS MBBS 2018 too and I really want to get in.
Which Board Examination you have appeared for?
Ans- I took exam under Rajasthan Board and secured 93.6%.
Which factors would you attribute your success in NEET to?
Ans-Consistency and Determination is the key. Coaching along with self study helped a lot. I believe that regular study is the major reason behind cracking the exam. I used to attend my coaching classes regularly, and had made it a habit of revising daily whatever was taught. Apart from these classes, I used to study for at least six hours a day. Moreover, preparation of notes and revision helped me a lot during the preparation phase.
What reference books/guides you have used for NEET preparation?
Ans- I usually used to prefer the study material provided by Allen Kota. But for organic, book by M.S Chauhan was recommended. I would suggest NCERT to clear your concepts.
Do you believe group studies and doubt clarifications with friends will have positive impact on learning?
Ans- I would say self study is the key for at least minimum 6 hours. This will fetch you good results.
What has not worked that well for you during NEET preparation?
Ans- I would say never postpone your work. Always do revision the same day you have studied the topic. It will make your concepts clear and reduce stress
Which according to you was the toughest and easiest section?
Ans- I did not analyze it section wise but I would say the difficulty level was moderate for me. Although, some questions in Biology were tricky and I got two questions wrong in Physics.
What are your hobbies? Did you engage in any other activities like sports/music during the preparations?
Ans- I am fond of reading comics. I enjoy watching cartoons and listening Bollywood songs. I am not active on social media.
How active are you in social media (facebook,quora) during your NEET preparation days?
Ans- Not much. I just used social media to listen to songs mostly.
Message for future NEET aspirants?
Ans- During the preparation phase,I believed in the simple philosophy of ‘Work hard and give your best; nothing is impossible’ to stay motivated. Do rigorous effort and be focused on strengthening the concepts, and practiced mock tests as much as possible. Also, I would advise you to work on your time management skills.
